I'm Trying To Remember A Movie Title

I'm trying to remember the name of a movie from the early 1980's, and Googling hasn't helped. The overall plot was that it took place in a small presumably California town and there was an earthquake and as a result, the water and/or the dairy supply became contaminated, and the residents started behaving in ways they wouldn't normally, like they had a loss of inhibitions or something similar. I don't remember how it ended, either. Thanks.

"The Curse (also known as The Farm) is a 1987 horror film adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft's The Colour Out of Space directed by David Keith. ... A meteorite lands on the farmland property of Nathan Crane (Claude Akins) in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.... As the rock shrinks away to nothing, a glowing color seeps out and into the ground. Within a few weeks, the farm's crops bloom but are soon discovered to be inedible. Shortly after, the local animals, as well as Nathan's wife, begin to go mad and a previously unknown element is discovered in the property's well."

Or maybe this? "Impulse (1984): After a small earthquake in a small and quiet town, local citizens start to have a bizarre, violent and self-destructive behaviour... " Impulse at Wikipedia.

I was going to suggest Impulse as well.

Could be "The Stuff".

My first thought was "The Crazies," too, but few of the details are close fits if you're sure about them.
