My Lady Friend has a rash on her leg above the top of her foot. Does anyone have any idea what this could be. No pain and no itching either She hasn't been exposed to poison ivy. Thanks in advance for any help

That... is not enough information for even the wildest of guesses. A picture might help?

Can you maybe find a picture that sort of resembles it? Different rashes look different.

Response by poster: This is link to pic. It didn't show up in my original question

Is this a rash she's had for 15 months? Or gets repeatedly? Because that's a lot different than "just showed up 2 hours ago". She needs to go talk to a doctor.

Best answer: Yeah, she needs to see a doctor. Start wirh a GP, escalate to dermatologist if necessary. That picture could be practically anything. This is what doctors are for.

IANAD but it looks like a mild case of shingles. While shingles is usually painful, sometimes it isn't.

Does it disappear when you roll a glass on it? It looks like a petechial rash to me. I've had one before, also on my feet/ankles. I freaked out a bit because it's like a meningitis rash! But my husband pointed out i was otherwise well and a GP told me it was a reaction to a virus i was getting over. She should see a Dr.

It could be so many things. I have a mild sun allergy and get rashes that look like that during the summer before I develop a tan. But that itches...

FWIW, I had shingles recently and that's not what my rash looked like, i.e., my rash was a cluster of blisters by my knee, a couple of inches across. The rash didn't bother me at all, but was preceded by a couple of weeks of odd pains from my foot through my hip. (This was my only experience with shingles, so take that into consideration.)
