100 free consult hours?

A while ago I read a blog post about somebody who was offering about 100 free hour-long consulting sessions in the hopes that one of them would lead to a job offer. I can't seem to find that blog post now. Who was this?

The person who set up the consulting-hours (not the person who wrote the blog post) was having trouble jobhunting, so as a strategy she (I'm pretty sure it's a woman) offered about 100 hours of free consulting. The idea was that through those consulting sessions, she could give a preview of her skills, and somebody who needed her skills would consider hiring her. I think this worked out for her - she got a job offer from one such client.

I thought I read about this in Chris Guillebeau's blog, but searching the archives isn't turning up anything. It would probably be on some kind of business/personal development blog. I probably got the number of hours wrong, I do remember it being a pretty big number. Maybe I'm just making this up, I don't know. Does this ring a bell? Who was this?

I think this might have been an anecdote in Guillebeau's book Born for This.
