The mythical Superchunk British Knights commercial

For many many years, I've heard about an early-90's commercial for British Knights sneakers featuring music written by Superchunk. It appears lost to the mists of time. UNLESS you know where I can find it or see it, or heck, even just listen to it. Anyone?

Have you tried emailing through their site? If you Tweet, Jon Wurster is pretty casually active and might respond.

This Google Books result indicates that it was an instrumental tune was called "Tasty Sneakers, Tasty Sneakers, and that Superchunk was paid $1000, some baseball caps, and some shoes for recording it...

Pretty sure that says it was called "Tasty Shoes, Tasty Shoes." Looks like they spent the money on a new van.

Looks like you can find Kool Moe Dee and MC Hammer, but no Superchunk.

Superchunk are a successful band, but not so much so that they're unreachable in a walled castle or anything.

Maybe you could reach out to Mac on Twitter? My experience with indie bands is that the biggest obstacle is probably that he no longer knows where it is himself, but at least it's worth a shot.

For what it's worth, from someone with Merge ties offering to help: Mac faved but didn't reply to her question, and her friends at Merge Records "have NO idea." (I'm fascinated by this whole thing!)
