So I think I'm basically trying to find an Ask MetaFilter for financial questions. Anyone know of any websites? Thanks.

Not quite what you're asking for, but I enjoy The Billfold.

There are also sources for certain kinds of financial questions, such as creditboards or fatwallet. But the personalfinance subreddit is the best general one, in my opinion.

I guess I contributed enough to http://money.stackexchange.com/ to earn moderator status, but I'm not sure how, given I was way more active for way longer at ServerFault. /shrug

Also depending on your questions, the Money Mustache forums and/or the SomethingAwful Business, Finance, and Careers forum might be helpful.

Motley Fool discussion forums used to be good, but I haven't used the site for a while, so take this advice with a pinch of salt.

Seconding Bogleheads. Both the forum and the wiki are great.
