How to get Neat scanner to stop asking me to sync!?

We bought a Neat scanner and installed the software. Now it is asking in a pop up window if we want to sync with the cloud. There is no way to turn this off and it asks 10,000 times a day. And I am not allowed to call customer service without a paid account. And the scanner does not seem to work without the software.

The Internet says I can use the scanner without the software by pressing the scan or pdf button but this does not seem to work when I close the Neat software program. And when the program is on it asks to sync constantly. If I go to their support page it addresses this issue but the fixes they have don't work. When I click "sync settings" nothing happens. I would uninstall the software but I would not be able to get new software because I guess I have to have a paid account to do that.

I'm just trying to get through this day. We have a tax business and this is our crunch time and we really don't have time to go buy another scanner.

If this were my business, I'd find the cheapest paid solution and move fast and hard on it. Get it done and out of the way and write it off as a business expense.

I've had success in the past using the built in Scan function in Windows rather than the scanner software.

It's $50 a year for the extra support. How much is your time worth?

Also $50 for each version, Vuescan is a constantly updated scanning utility whose goal is to support scanners forever. Supports both OCR and image scanning, Windows/Mac/Linux

Response by poster: I just wanted to be clear here I am not angry at Neat - I'm sure they didn't want this to happen - I just have a time crunch today.

I have a completely different answer for you. It's called "Dialog Devil" and it can be set up to push "No" buttons on popups nearly instantly. You do have to pay for it but it isn't very expensive. I use it to get rid of all kinds of nag popups (especially the "You have unsaved data. Do you want to save it before you exit the program?" nags).

The only thing about it you do have to know is that it can't be set up to automatically start when Windows boots up. That's because it need administrator privilege. I have a shortcut on my desktop, and whever I boot (not very often) I run it manually.

Everyone has a handful of utilities they can't live without, and this is one of mine.

I am pretty sure they are having technical issues today. I can't even login to my cloud account. Maybe that's why nothing is happening?
