Can anyone identify this song from the movie Cypher?

Can anyone identify this song? (mp3 snippet, 154 kB) I heard it in the movie Cypher.

It's played in the final scene, while the camera zooms around a sailboat. The movie's score was composed by Michael Andrews, but this song doesn't sound anything like the other music and it isn't on the soundtrack cd, so it might have been made by someone else. But who? The end credits give no clue, neither do the IMDB forums, and my attempts to contact people through the movie's web site have failed.

Looking through the files here for a match: Cypher, check it out.

tetsuo: No, that's the soundtrack cd listing, and it doesn't contain the one song I liked.

Oh crap, sorry, somehow scanned right over that "isn't on the soundtrack cd" part.

Shazam indicates: Andre Visior - The Dawn

fire&wings: After listening to it here, I don't think that's the one.

I don't have a link to back this up, but it sounds very much like Cibo Matto to me.

Very strange that it's not listed in the end credits; I thought that was a requirement.

Are you sure it's a song in its own right? It might be part of the score, and not a song at all, which would explain it's not being in the soundtrack.

o2b: I'm not sure I follow you. Every part of the score except this song seems to be on the soundtrack cd. This song is longer than most other parts, sounds different, and seems more like a "standalone" song than the rest.

Maybe Michael Andrews wrote it for the movie, and later it was left out of the soundtrack cd because it didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the music. I don't know. But I hope not.

Taking a cue from o2b, I looked up the guy who did the score. The song is on Michael Andrews' official site. It's the Cypher Main Theme by Inara George.

I imagine that it's not on the soundtrack CD because it's so short? Just guessing.

Or maybe there's a licensing issue of some sort -- that hit Madonna song "This Used To Be My Playground" couldn't be featured on the A League of Our Own soundtrack for similar reasons, if I recall correctly.

Gator: Thank you! Though it's strange that the main theme isn't on the soundtrack.
