mrfishit.exe on my car's computer?

An odd error message appeared on the navigation screen in my 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe yesterday that said something about not connecting to mrfish.exe. It was a small message and the systems all seemed to be working, and the message vanished when I restarted the car nor has it yet reappeared.

A quick google search reveals that there's some bot called mrfishit.exe that's used to farm for coins/gold in World of Warcraft but it also appears to have other uses.

I bought the car used and have no idea what the previous owner did with it.
For the record, I've never played WoW and I've only ever connected an iPhone.

1) What exactly is mrfishit.exe?

2) How did it get in my car?

2) Why would this appear on my car's navigation screen?

3) Is it doing anything nefarious?

4) How critical is it that I have it removed?

It's probably drfish.exe, not mrfish.exe, and it appears to be a known issue.

drfish hyundai.

  1. It's probably drfish.exe, not mrfishit.exe.
  2. It's most likely the GUI program that runs the navigation display on Hyundais, and is unrelated to any bot you found online. It got there by being installed by Hyundai.
  3. The program is experiencing problems and crashing, showing the error message that you saw.
  4. Other than not working as intended, probably not.
  5. Probably not critical. If it recurs, complain to a Hyundai dealer.

FYI - you can order an update for your navi system HERE (and/or check to see how old your current version is)

Expert Level: I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata purchased brand new and have updated the navi system twice. Each time was a noticeable (good) change. It updates not only the maps but also different functionality of the entire system.

Response by poster: Thanks for the responses but I was able to locate all of that Google info myself. What I'm hoping to locate is some more specific info on what that file is, why it's there, and why it's telling me that it can't connect, and to what. I have spoken to a dealer and they're unaware of the issue and have never heard of the file.

Is there anyone in the hive mind who knows what's going on here?!?
