Seeking 1980s novel linking Chartres Cathedral labyrinth & computing

I purchased a British HC book some years ago which focused on the labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral (it was on the B&W cover) - the book was structured in three parts, one dealing with the labyrinth and its meaning, the other two parts concerned a startup company developing software/computer architecture and there was a direct link to the Chartres theme.

The book was certainly unique in its structure & subject matter, and had definite philosophical / gnostic leanings. Note: was nothing to do with Nigel Kneale's 'The Stone Tape'. Neither was it an SF book as I remember. I seem to have lost it, and would like to repurchase, but can't remember the title, author or publisher, so I am SOL unless this post triggers a response in the MeFite community.

Possibly a novel called Tondeau of Chartres (pub London, 1981) but I can't find a synopsis or review for it online. The cover is not the labyrinth but is mostly b&w.

There’s a copy of that in the Bodleian closed stacks. I can probably get a look at it it you want. Might take a week or two though.

Response by poster: This is not the book, I'm afraid - but thanks for responding.
