Why will MLB.com only play on one of our televisions?

We ordered an MLB.com season pass on our bedroom Apple TV. Now, we can't get it to play on our second TV. What are we doing wrong?
Longer story: we didn't order it via the website for MLB because we wanted to make sure my husband could watch it using the Apple TV boxes. When we did it last year, it was my birthday gift to him and we paid by the month. This year, we got the season pass. We set it up just by happenstance on the bedroom TV, which has an Apple TV box linked to my iTunes account. It's working, and I have an email receipt for the transaction from Apple.
Now, the second TV. Also an Apple TV box linked to my account. You go into the settings and it has the two big squares to buy the monthly or season pass, and then two links, to log in with an mlb.com account, or to restore a purchase from iTunes. When I select this later option, it tells me that the credential exists, but the subscription has expired. I tried clearing the log-in credentials and re-doing it. Same message.
So is this Apple's problem or MLB.com's problem? Or is there some simple thing I am missing to get this very expensive subscription working on both our TVs? I hate to burn a question on this, but I don't even know who to contact here.

Saw this on the MLB FAQ:
An Apple TV in-app purchase must first be "connected" to a MLB.com account for portability in order to access subscription features on compatible mobile devices by signing into the application with valid MLB.com credentials.
I don't have the devices or a subscription so this is just a guess, but maybe do this:
Open your At Bat application [on first Apple TV]
Tap on the "More" tab
Tap on "Settings" in the upper right
Tap on "Connect Purchase to MLB.com" and log in with existing MLB.com credentials or register for a new account
Then logging in with your MLB.com credentials on the second AppleTV.
