Any ideas for speakers for a conference about how I.T. benefits people?

I'm helping organize a 2017 conference on I.T. in higher education; the theme is going to be how I.T. benefits people on a daily basis. We've got an array of prospective speakers already, but in the interest of broadening the pool... any suggestions?

The following are not required but would be strongly favoured...

- Canadians
- People with keynote experience
- Interesting intersections between technology and people (we're looking into a researcher that's written software that lets a digging machine distinguish between organic and inorganic matter to help with cave-ins and mine rescues, for instance)
- Content that relates to education/teaching/learning

Best answer: Judith Donath is not Canadian but hits your other preferred characteristics. Here's a page that links to her CV.

Best answer: I think technology and the implications for accessibility in education is a great example of how IT benefits people daily.

The session lists for recent Accessibility Camps in Toronto, Ottawa and Guelph may be a place to look for people who can speak on this - there's a heavy tech focus at these.

Jutta Treviranus is the Director of the Inclusive Design Research Centre at OCAD, and I've seen her speak before. She's very interesting.
