Where can I get hold of the tv series Black-ish from Australia?

I saw a few episodes of Black-ish on a plane recently and liked it a lot. I am subscribed to Netflix, and a VPN service, but it's not on any region there. I have an iPad and an android phone, but it's not available from iTunes for people in Australia, and I even downloaded the Amazon app, having heard it was an Amazon exclusive, but the bastards say "not available in your region" when I try to purchase it. They also seem good at getting uploads removed from the not-so-legal sites. I don't have a DVD or video player. Am I completely out of luck?

Best answer: Black-ish is a regular TV show broadcast on ABC in the States -- this is the link to the ABC website, with full episodes, but I'm betting you'll need a VPN in the US to watch them.

It's also available on Hulu.com - if your VPN doesn't cooperate with the ABC website, you might try that (though I think you will have to create an account, which might not work).

And it's also on the U.S. iTunes store - I'm guessing they have the same restrictions as Amazon so that probably doesn't help, but it's not Amazon-exclusive in any sense.

You could see if this helps. Tunnelbear.com. Sorry, tried making it a link but it wouldn't work.

hola.org + Hulu and you should be good to go.

Hola is not a great choice - they have a history of selling your bandwidth. But if you have a VPN that works with Netflix, it's reasonably likely that it will work with either Hulu and/or the ABC website.

Response by poster: Isn't Hulu a subscription service like Netflix now? I'm not up for paying another monthly subscription, really. My current VPN would work with them, though.

I got a few useful suggestions by memail for further gray-area places to try though.

Response by poster: Oh my God, I can access the ABC version with my VPN, but to watch it on my iPad I would have to install their stupid player app, which iTunes won't let me have, because I'm in Australia. I hate everything. At least I can watch it on my laptop now though.

Response by poster: In case anyone is still following along at home, I tried the ABC version from my laptop, and got "error 404-12". I don't think that's to do with my VPN, though. Although who knows?

I think it might be time to turn to the suggestions kind mefites sent me by memail. Thanks, all!
