Should I wait for the 4th gen lenovo x1 carbon, or buy now?

I'm thinking of buying a Lenovo X1 Carbon. I think these are the last days of the 3rd-gen X1 Carbon, with the 4th-gen ones coming out pretty soon. Is there a reason to wait for the 4th gen x1 carbon before ordering?

Are there any great advantages (or downsides) to the new gen over the old gen? Are there advantages to buying now? Right now - here in Canada, there are 10% discounts on the X1 Carbon. Can I get a comparable machine for the same money if use the discount to pay for a slightly-better machine than I'd otherwise get?

On the whole, I'd rather get my machine sooner rather than later, but can also wait if there's a good reason to.

The Gen3 X1 Carbon has a problem with image retention (ghosting) on the HiDPI display. My company sent a large number of them back. None of the hundreds we purchased escaped the ghosting issue. Wait.

Do you plan on keeping this computer for a long time? If you are planning on this being your laptop for say, the next four years, I would wait a little so you can have the cutting edge specs that will offer more protection against future changes in software. For example, I have a six year old Lenovo x200 that still works great most of the time, but is brought to a halt by the background downloads that were introduced in Windows 10.
