Calling all hip hop heads: Please help me find the name of a soul song used as a fade-out on a Little Brother track.

On Little Brother's album "The Listening", track 8 "Shorty on the Lookout" fades out at around 4:20 with a loop from an old soul-ish track and the lyrics:

Why do you keep me hanging on a string
Baby for you I'd do anything
Make up your mind and decide
is it real what you feel?

It's incredibly catchy and I have no idea where the sample came from. Any crate diggers have an idea where 9th Wonder got this clip from?

According to this site, it is "Hangin" by Stylus. Your lyrics may be incorrect.

Thanks LeiaS. I'm still pretty sure my lyrics are mostly right, though!

Usually, a good source for getting questions like these answered is the-breaks.com, although they dont seem to have this particular song listed.

You are right, anthill. I didn't actually listen to the song and was just hunting Google for your answer. When I saw that the page with the correct answer had different lyrics, I thought that perhaps the reason I was having difficulty finding the answer with a standard lyrics search might be that yours were slightly misheard. Of course, once I heard that MP3, I realized you were right. Sorry about that!
