What was the business that let actors use their address to receive mail?

I am half remembering an interesting fact...please help me remember the whole thing. I seem to remember their was a business (a bar maybe, or a store chain?) that had a policy of allowing actors without a permanent address to receive mail at their business. I think it is/was a long tradition, can't remember if the business was related to theatre or not. Thanks!
Was it this obituary for Lenny Cecere and his shop, Something Special?
