Where to climb trees in central Paris?

We're in Paris and my 8-year old would really like to climb trees. We're staying at Le Marais. Anyone have ideas?

The trees here are not really the sort that are safe to climb. Mostly deciduous, not very old, and thus not very strong. (IWAEYOTC - I Was An Eight-Year-Old Tree Climber)

However, there's a really fun climbing area especially for kids on the Seine!

Best answer: Some of the trees in the Butte Chaumont are climate especially near the playground near the rue Fessart entrance. It's not far from the marais...line 11 to metro pyrenees. And it's a gorgeous park and it is a gorgeous day.

Do they have to be real trees? Because there is a neat "terrain d'aventure" specifically for kids age 7-11 not too far from you. It's on the southwest corner of the park just west of Les Halles, the huge shopping center and Métro / RER station. It definitely involves lots of climbing. Check the hours, though, it's supervised and so I think it's closed Mondays and sometimes in the middle of the day.
