Virtual pet app for android?

I'm looking to adopt a virtual pet for an Android device! Got suggestions?

Up until a month ago, we had a workplace cat. We can't have a pet at home, so I got pretty attached to the little fluffball, but for health & safety reasons, we had to find a new home for her (she's very happy and safe-- her new owners, friends of ours, love her dearly).

I miss her very, very much, though; I work night shift, and she was my only company for 2+ years. And silly as it sounds, I'm wondering if a make-believe pet won't help a bit in getting over missing her.

Any recommendations for virtual pet apps for Android would be greatly appreciated.

Best answer: Pou. A surprisingly engaging little blob, who comes with a lot of fun little games to play.

Best answer: Neko Atsume (mentioned on the green before there was an English version)

Best answer: Seconding Neko Atsume! I've been playing it since May and still find it charming. The kitties are cute and they have cute little butts and you can buy them things. It's pretty great.

In addition to Neko Atsume, if you were into Tamagotchis twenty years ago, they're back...

Response by poster: Pou is very cute, but also making me a bit anxious-- what if I can't check in & feed him?-- but I love the games, and being able to pet him. Neko Atsume is lower-maintenance, and KITTIES.

Will have to test-drive both for a while-- thank you!

Yes, a nice thing about Neko Atsume is that you can leave the game alone for a day or a week or ten and there's no permanent repercussion. Put out more cat food the cats come back with no hurt feelings.
