So took the cat to the vet because she had bloody stools for 2 days. We did fecal test is negative. Now she drew some blood and we are waiting for those results. We might do an ultrasoubd she said to test for colitis and other rumors. We had that happen before and can't tell you what it was. Just went away after treatment with metronidazole. They has giardiasis and coccidia on the past but that's 9 months ago. Got treated She is 1 year old ragdoll cat Any experience with this ? Any advice?

Response by poster: How did they treat it? What were your cats symptoms?

I answered in memail, but in case anyone else is interested: the primary symptoms were bloody stool/diarrhea, frequent vomiting (often bloody as well), and loss of appetite. The vet diagnosed her with an ultrasound. She was treated with prednisalone, which did alleviate that problem (she had rather a lot of other issues by this point...).

Mouse and rat poison is blood thinner, warfarin. So if you or your neighbors are putting out poison for mice and she is catching and eating them, she can have bloody stools if she is eating sharp little bits, that would normally pass.

Count on your cat to catch house mice.

Both giardia and coccidia can behave cyclically and come back if not treated long enough. They may also not always show up in stool tests. Or at least that's what a vet has told me.

Have you tried switching out her food? Perhaps she's reacting to an ingredient in her old stuff? Has she had any sources for anxiety lately? When my cat had mysterious bloody stool those were other causes thrown out there by the vet.
