Got Too Much Milk

I bought some milk by accident when I still had an almost full container. What are some recipes (besides making ricotta/mozzarella) that use up a decent amount? It's cow milk.
Response by poster: I already have been eating cereal, I want something more interesting.

The Indian dessert gajar ka halwa involves lots of milk.
You can make a latte and other coffee drinks, of course.

Extra milk stores well in the form of waffles and pancakes (bonus points for the ability to freeze these).

Best answer: I always make potato soup when I need to use up milk.

A large batch of bread or biscuits using milk for the liquid, can freeze extras after baked. Old fashioned cooked chocolate pudding. Scalloped potatoes. Seafood Chowder. I'm hungry now!

Chocolate Pudding... or well any pudding.
How's your skin? Could always go for a milk bath.

You could try Jamie Oliver's chicken in milk recipe. It's so delicate I found it a bit bland at first (maybe I didn't do it right?), but it grew on me, and I've made it several times.

You can freeze milk, in case you want to drink it later!

Freeze it, for serious. You'll need it next time you come back from vacation and need some milk and don't feel like coming to the store.

Make this lowfat vanilla bean custard sauce, serve it on everything. Seriously, its the best. My partner and I can go through a recipe of this in an evening. I've made it with extract too and it's also awesome, just not AS awesome.

I make my "low fat" cream chipped beef using skim milk and flour - you could make a large batch of cream chipped beef and freeze it for breakfast in the future -
essentially -
1.) melt 2 parts butter in pan
2.) cut up chipped beef and lightly cook in melted butter (helps get the meat flavor out)
3.) add 1 part flour to pan, stir, and cook until lightly browned
4.) slowly add milk. ( I use 2 cups of milk for 2 tbsp of butter with 1 tbsp of flour - this makes two large servings)
5.) stir over medium/high heat until you use as much milk as you want. the longer you cook it the thicker it gets.
Serve immediately over toast/biscuits or let cool and freeze to be microwaved later on.
It takes about 10-15 minutes to make for breakfast in the morning - One of my go to breakfast meals!

Best answer: Oatmeal: 1 cup steel cut oats + 4 cups milk.
I second waffles, too. I just made a browned butter yeasted waffle recipe that called for 2 cups milk and 1/2 cup buttermilk, but you could definitely substitute all milk.

You can turn it into yogurt. All you need to do is heat it up and then add like a cup of store-bought plain yogurt. The whole thing will magically turn into (really good) yogurt.

Best answer: Yeah, ignore everyone here except jon1270. With raisins and some cardamom and tiny bit of cinnamon. Oh god, it's bed time, crap.

Another vote for pudding. For example, Smitten Kitchen's butterscotch pudding.
