Rehearsal dinner ideas for a bunch of vegetarians in Kona?

We're planning a wedding from afar and our previous idea for a rehearsal dinner (for about 50 people) in Kona fell through. We're looking for some new ideas.

Many of our group are vegetarian. The restaurant doesn't have to be fully vegetarian, but good vegetarian options are a must. There will be about 50 people and we're hoping to keep the total price of dinner in the $2,000 ballpark.

Ideally the place would have a secluded section we could use or a room to rent out. Most of our people will be staying at or near the Sheraton, but we can arrange transportation within a reasonable distance.

Does anyone have any ideas for us?

I do not know anything about Hawaii specifically, but if you can find an Indian restaurant they a) will actually know and care what "vegetarian" means, b) often have event experience and either a private event room of their own or a relationship with a place.

Best answer: The Holuakoa cafe up in Holualoa is beautiful and has good vegetarian options. It's about 20 mins from the Keauhou Bay Sheraton.

Response by poster: The Indian restaurant idea is a great suggestion! We were hoping to do something different as we'll be serving Indian food for the rest of the wedding events, but we could do that for the rehearsal dinner as well.
