2 days in NYC or BOS to become a competitive lifter

i'm an intermediate to solo lifter looking to move to amateur competition. I'll be idle in Boston or NYC (haven't decided yet) on Nov 8 - 10. what workshops or retreats could help me up my game?
I'd like to have a little retreat in that time. Maybe a 2-day workshop of some sort. What are my options? can they include lodging?
And here are the sorts of things I'm interested in:
Strength Training
Bodybuilding
Crossfit
personal training certification
If it helps, ive been lifting solo about 5 years. am comfortable with most major lifts. lack a vocabulary. am about 10 pounds underweight for the lifting i would like to do.

Paulie Steinman, at the South Brooklyn Weightlifting Club, is probably the single best powerlifting coach in New York. There's no formal retreat or anything like that, but doing a private session or two with him is well worth your time.

I would strongly recommend against training with Paulie for reasons I'm happy to go into further if you'd like to MeMail me. If you'll have a car in Boston, Total Performance Sports in Everett is a mecca for powerlifting and strongman.
If you have control over your location and this is your top priority, you might consider changing your destination away from Boston or NYC -- despite those cities' status as the center of so many other things, they're both relatively lacking in strength sports facilities and experts.

Response by poster: I just got free housing in Somerville. If anyone's still watching, any additional suggestions?
