Readings re psychiatric treatment for teen girl

Extended family of a teenage girl from a multicultural family (American and African) seeking laypersons' reading list on navigating psychiatric services in the US. You're not our physician, psychiatrist, or therapist. I'm not the parent. To navigate the US pediatric psychiatric system from a standing start, what do you recommend parents read?

Child is over 10 and under 20 years old, was prescribed Elavil while in Africa (for depression, sleep issues), no discussion of black box warning. In US this fall she was swapped off Elavil by school psychiatrist to daily Trazodone.

The girl is one week into professional care (a well-regarded urban psychiatric unit as inpatient), and has just had Prozac added. For parents with no background, what would you recommend they read that is not scary, not too medicalized, focuses on how to be a parent in stressful system?

All parenting and schooling has taken place in urban Africa, international schools, but zero experience with US pediatric care or psychiatric system.

Not looking for treatment recommendations. Looking for basic background reading list on landscape parents might encounter.

Thanks in advance.

My two cents: TLDR: ask the therapist of the child on what to read in this specific situation.
