Need info on crystal meth

This morning I found a bag of crystal meth hidden on my shelf, and I need some help in figuring out what I'm dealing with.
All evidence points to a house guest who has been crashing on my couch for a few weeks - I woke up to the sounds of him accidentally knocking things off my shelf, couldn't get back to sleep, and so went to see what he had been up to.
I went ballistic, confronted him, he denied knowledge of it, then I flushed it down the toilet. I'd like to know whether this was for personal use or whether he was planning to deal. Either way he's out the door, but I want to know where things stand.
I've dealt with addicts and users before, but have never actually seen the drug in real life. I wish I had taken a photo to post; the best similar photo I can find online was from this article in Vice. It was maybe half again as big, though it was 4 am and I was in a bit of a rage & can't offer a better estimate.
