Question: Set number of copies in Firefox 1.5 Print Dialog once and for all?

Firefox 1.5: I want to set the number of copies in the Firefox 1.5 Print Dialog box once and for all for all the diffrent printing jobs I need. I was able to do this in 1.0x, can I get 1.5 to function in the same way?

In the course of my work, I need to print multiple (4) copies of many different pages. Before 1.5, if I set the number of copies to 4 in the Print dialog box, it would stay set to 4 for all the following jobs until I closed the window . Now in 1.5, everytime I click to print a page, I have to set the number of copies from 1 to 4. Can I customize Firefox 1.5 so it goes back to the old 1.0x behaviour?

I tried fiddling with a few settings in about:config, to no avail.

I'm not sure about the printing options, but if no one else here knows either, you might try the MozillaZine forums (the "official unofficial" Mozilla/Firefox forums).

Dunno, but I think I know a workaround that may accomplish this...

Create another instance of your printer, so you effectively have two printers available on your pc that point to the same physical printer. Give this new one a distinctive name. "Printermodel FF 4x"

Then, on the new printer you created, fiddle with the settings so that anything that goes to that printer is printed 4x.

Print to that new printer from Firefox and see if it works. (I'm pretty sure it will, unless Firefox passes the # of copies to the print driver and overrides the setting you configured)

This workaround typically arises when a printer has multiple trays, and people want to print to letterhead or whatever without having to go into preferences every single time. Create a dupe printer w/ default tray set to letterhead, etc.

(I'd give more detailed instructions but I don't know what OS you're on, and I only know XP)
