does anyone have a specific salon recommendation in the washmetro area for a bikini (brazilian) wax. i know we've covered the topic generally a couple of times, but i'm looking for specific salon recommendations in DC or on the MD side. places to avoid would be useful as well. thanks!

I'm 99% sure I used to go to the Watergate Salon. (Their website has changed and it was a year ago, hence the uncertainty.) The waxer I went to was named Rose, and she was really great.

After poking around on their website, I'm sure that's the salon I went to. And their prices are lower than their flowery "About Us" sections might suggest (I want to say $40-50 for a brazilian?).

I should also have warned that that site has audio.

The Washingtonian online is an excellent resource for the DC area. It's one of the best resources for restaurant reviews, bars, hair salons, spas, etc.

I like Salon Cielo in Dupont. I've heard good things about Celadon in metro center area, and O Salon in Georgetown.

Piaf on 15th and L is GREAT.

If you're willing to travel a bit north, Vesna at Mount Washington Spa is bloody amazing. Seriously. She makes her own wax and it's SO much less painful than others I've been to. Not to mention that she's really fast. Like in and out in ten minutes fast.
