DataFilter: Where can I get old weather forecasts?

I need around 10 years or so of daily temperature forecasts for a few representative US cities.

Weather Underground. Search for the city and click on "History".

Is it forecasts you need, or records of actual temperatures?

When we need US climate data, we get it from NCDC. There may be a nominal charge, but it's pretty cheap.

Response by poster: To clarify, i need a history of forecasts, not a history of weather. I just looked at the Weather Underground's "history" page, which is very impressive but I do not see a history of forecasts.

Actual observed weather? kdern is correct, wunderground works great.

Forecasts? Unfortunately the agencies pretty much treat this as perishable information. There may be an outside chance NCDC has it; I'd give them a call. If you only want to go back to 2002, this would solve the problem.

Daily newspapers contain forecasts! Swing by your nearest suitable library and fire up the microfilm reader.

Mendel - great idea. Would be a LOT of work to compile 10 years of history though!

I've thought for a long time it would be great to compare the forecasts with recorded temperatures- if you ever do find a good source of this data, I'd love to hear about it! Email is in my profile.
