I need to sell my SF books in London

I know there are a few variants of this question in metafilter history, but hopefully this is a reasonably unique combination...: I have 20-ish boxes of mainly SF books in London (UK). There's nothing too unique but a moderate density of hardcovers. I want to get rid of them and hopefully end up with both more space and more money (although research has made my cynical about how much money might be involved). What's the best option?

Best answer: The easiest may be to cart them to the Book & Comic Exchange in Notting Hill. They will buy virtually anything so long as you have some form of ID. You won't get much per book (less than £1 probably unless you have anything rare), but if you're selling boxes of them than it'll hopefully add up.

Since you've got 20-odd boxes I'd call them first to make sure they're OK with that amount. Also they don't always have a buyer on hand, so see if you can find out when one will definitely be in to avoid a wasted journey.

Best answer: Porcupine Books, Cold Tonnage , and The Space Merchants are second-hand SF dealers based in or near London who might be interested.

Response by poster: Both pretty promising answers. My stuff might be a bit new for some of the SF dealers who seem to prefer vintage stuff.

Anyway, enquiries are in progress.
