Who are the best fashion / beauty / lifestyle vloggers?
September 28, 2015 11:57 AM
After asking for ideas for the perfect planner, I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole of videos about planners which led me to the whole beauty / lifestyle vlogger genre, so now I'm seeking more.
So far, I like Zoella the most because she seems generally enthusiastic about what she's doing with minimal obnoxiousness.
I'm in my mid-30's, so I'd like to find people who are a bit older, but I recognize that this sort of things skews a little younger. I'm not looking for mommy Christian vlogger types, more the fun, sort of shallow "Hey, I bought this / had this fun experience / want to share what's in my bag and I want to tell you about it." US or UK-centric preferred.
I love r/femalefashionadvice if that helps give you an idea of what I'm looking for.

Not to threadsit, but I'm looking for Vloggers, not Bloggers.

Whoops, misread. Jen over at Pretty Neat Living is good.

I find essiebutton and Ingrid Nilsen to be on the non-obnoxious end of this genre.

Go to gurugossiper and read up...a lot of them have really sketchy business practices but there are some gems out there. Rave about a guru is the section you want.

Not really, it's a subjective thing. An example is Grace Helbig. Slightly difference genre, but she just grates on my last nerve.
So far, I really like the two that sazerac mentioned. And OF COURSE Ingrid Nilsen is dating Hannah Hart who I have a total YouTube crush on. Of. Course.

In addition to essiebutton, I like Lily Pebbles (lots and lots of London, if that's your thing) and Claire Marshall (not as much regular vlogging, but loads of coolness).

One of my faves: ViviannaDoesMakeup (other faves were already mentioned!).

I like Jen of frmheadtotoe. I find her energetic and enthusiastic but also very authentic (e.g. she has done several no-makeup vids and occasionally talks about more serious topics), which helps with obnoxiousness tendencies.

Another favorite that I forgot earlier: Ashley at MakeupTIA (not much vlogging, but really lovely videos).

I fell down a Zoella rabbit hole earlier this year. There is a whole UK vlogger scene surrounding her, but the only other one whose videos I enjoy watching is Sprinkleofglitter (and her associated channel Sprinkleofchatter). She does have an adorable daughter, but you can avoid those videos.
Maybe also AlbInWonderland?

Nthing EssieButton. I really liked Ingrid, but she's just one of those youtubers that once you really get to know, you start to dislike slightly. It takes time so enjoy her!
Others:
Rachel Talbott (so underrated, her videos are well done and I always learn something new).
Fleur De Force, (very mature and classy for her age).

I really enjoy Lisa Eldridge's videos; she's a professional makeup artist, but she does a lot of simple/natural looks.

Also, for anyone that comes along after, I also dig Samanthan Maria.
