Where do the natural science geeks hang out?

I'm researching examples of great online engagement focused on the natural world.

I'm specifically looking for blogs, fora, news aggregators and general online chit-chat around science interest with a natural history bent. Specifics not important, audience all ages - stars to seeds; dinosaurs to diagenesis; whatever, are there any gems (aside from MeFi!) you'd recommend?

What about The Brainscoop, a cool Youtube channel and Tumblr associated with Chicago's Field Museum? The host, Emily Graslie, is very charming as well.

Not sure it quite fits what you are looking for, but maybe the Zooniverse projects?

Small Things Considered is a terrific blog published by the American Society for Microbiology. It covers a wide variety of topics in microbiology, many of them related to the evolution and ecological niches of different microbes, which may satisfy your "natural history" criteria.

Mefi's own Rosin Cerate is a fun blog about curiosities of (mostly) natural history.

A friend of mine hangs out on Carnivora Forum.
Animal discussion, species profiles, and a huge section on (mostly) imaginary fight match ups between species.
