Best Glue for an Aeron Chair?

The seat for my 13-year-old (out of warranty) Aeron chair has cracked rather dramatically, with stabby bits pointing out. What's this thing made out of, and what's the best glue for it?

Best answer: This is just a guess, but this industrial-strength wrap might work. Or maybe industrial adhesive designed for plastic (much more expensive and requires some extra equipment...maybe try the tape first). I don't think regular glue or Sugru will work for something like that, though I'm not sure. You could also buy a replacement seat...

I wouldn't put much money into expensive special adhesives, because I doubt it would work for long on such a high-stress part.

FWIW, that seat appears to be available on eBay, used but nice, for $90 OBO, shipped.

That flex wrap tape is crazy bananas and this is is pretty much a perfect application for it. They sell it at Lowes or home depot. And the videos on YouTube.... Oh goodness. Some guy hung a jetski from a pipe cut in half and repaired with that tape. About $8 a role so I'd try it before buying a replacement.

Putting a bit of JB Weld between the parts before wrapping them with the tape wouldn't hurt.

If you can't get tape around because of the seat mesh, perhaps JB Weld and zip ties?
