Basically an updated version of this question. Looking for shots of Times Square in the movies. Extra points for recent films. Thanks!

The first Captain America movie ends with Cap and Nick Fury on Times Square, I believe.

Vanilla Sky offers one of the most unique shots ever -- Tom Cruise running through a completely empty Times Square. No CGI trickery -- they literally cleared the streets and did it in a very narrow window of availability.

This year's "Mistress America" appears to have a scene there, where the main character meets her new stepsister-to-be, as seen in this trailer (YTL). I missed it when it came through for the film festival, but it came out in wider release yesterday (Friday Aug 14)-- recent enough for ya?

2007's "I Am Legend" with Will Smith as the only living boy in New York (Manhattan, at least) features this early sequence in which he stalks deer through a Times Square that's returning to nature following the apocalypse that spared him. There's a startling moment at about 2:37, just so you know.

Also not a film, but there's a scene in Times Square near the end of the first episode of Mr. Robot.

If we're doing tv shows too, the upcoming NBC show Blindspot opens in Times Square.
