Reliable yet cheaper ways to transfer money from US to Korea?

Looking for recommendations for currency transfer services that are reputable, reliable and won't tack on as many fees as an international bank wire. This is for sending from a personal bank account in the US (from USD) and transferring to a personal bank account in South Korea (to KRW). In case it makes a difference, I'm interested in both of these scenarios:

- When the same person owns both bank accounts (sending and receiving). They're different banks, though.
- When the owner of the sending account is different from the recipient. Also different banks.

Searched through some older threads about currency transfers, and came across xe.com a few times -- is XE Trade a good option for South Korea? Any other services you've used and like, or didn't like?

Other services -- any opinions on these?
usforex.com
Payoneer (I couldn't find a lot of details on fees and requirements on the Payoneer site but maybe I was looking in the wrong place.)

I also saw these, but KRW isn't one of their supported currencies:
TransferWise
CurrencyFair
Currencies Direct

Thanks for any suggestions you have!
