Looking for simple black heels to go with simple black dress.

I'm looking for something like this to go with a simple silk black dress.

I love these, but it is a bit out of my price range and don't come in my size (US5, 5.5). I like straps and don't mind buckles. I like some of the ModCloth style, but mostly they're too cutesy for me and the quality is usually low. Essentially just looking for something simple with a bit of edge, not the standard pointy heels. Any suggestions? Specific brands I should look at?

Thanks!

Asos.com is a good source of cheaper shoes. Here are some similar styles. or these.

If you like Modcloth, you might like the aesthetic of Miz Mooz. But I don't think they come smaller than a 6 (I've been drooling over a few designs for years, but I wear a 5). I've been reasonably happy with my one pair of shoes from Chelsea Crew. (Zulily link, but feel free to check Amazon, DSW, etc., even Modcloth; I bought mine from Trashy Diva, which might be too cutesy.) They have some funky/retro influence like Miz Mooz but are more affordable; they also go down to a 35. They aren't incredibly high-quality, as you can guess from the price point, but they're not that bad. I have the very cute black and white version of the Molly, but it also comes in all-black. Or what about something like this?

6pm is good for discounts on brands that are of better quality. A few options (you can search for more yourself, since I don't know your line for embellishment between interesting and tacky):

1
2
3
4
5
6

Mohops

They are my universal female shoe answer.

Ms Vegetable, I'm so sad that Mohops apparently make women's and kids sizes BUT the sizing skips from 34.5 (kids) to 36 (women's). Arrgh.

I have a pair of old Clarks heels in size 5 with a similar look. Unfortunately they're long sold out online, which doesn't help you. I'm not seeing anything with the same retro-edgy look in their current offerings, but what about these Aerosoles booties?

I guess my general advice is, try looking at shoe brands that you know make your size. Filter by color and size among the heels, keep an open mind, and cast a broad net. 6PM is a great aggregate resource although their return policy is annoying (pay your own return shipping, no flat rate label). If you want to delve into the higher $150+ price point as the original Anthro shoes, try Zappos or Nordstrom.

Fluevogs are expensive but come in a 5 and 5.5, quality is great, and you can filter by size on the main page. Every once in a while you can catch a great deal on their sale page. These Neptunes are killer.
