Weekend (emergency) plumber needed in Seattle!

Hey Emerald City buds - my toilet is fucked and I need to get it fixed like tomorrow (Saturday)...can someone recomend me either an independent dude or a company who won't completely screw me b/c I need them on the weekend? Bless you, and I 'll buy you beers at the next MeetUp, I promise.

Zan the rad dyke plumber always did good work, great in a pinch and really no-nonsense, good with plumbing. I'd recommend her. Don't know aout her weekend availability.

As my wife learned from observing the peril of our neighbors, a hotel room for a night (or two) can be a hell of a lot cheaper than having plumbers working on a weekend night.

I live in a house converted to apartments. We had a pipe freeze and burst last winter at about 11pm, so my neighbors and I started calling to find plumbers that could come and fix it. We called many places and left many messages, but only one said they could come right away.

They didn't arrive until 10am the next day. As far as I can tell they still charged an emergency rate for the repair. At least two reasonable sounding plumbers called back first thing in the morning (7am, 8am), but foolishly I told them not to come because we already 'had someone on the way'.

I think the entire notion of emergency plumbers is a scam. They just lead you on to get the business...

Beacon were the other people that I used to hire when I lived in Seattle, in Ballard where I managed a building there. They were pleasant, unexceptional and got the work done but I don't remember them coming on the weekends. Sorry I don't have more info for you.

You guys rock, thanks. I set up an appointment for today (Sat.) sometime in the afternoon w/Beacon, they said the service call by tself was $50 then they'd bill from there for the work.

It's my own damn fault, the toilet's been freaky for weeks so of COURSE it's Friday night when it (ahem) craps out.

I really appreciate your advice here!
