Which Las Vegas hospitals take psychiatric emergencies?

Trying to locate a family member who was taken by first responders to a hospital for a psychiatric emergency. I've called a few hospitals without luck. Anyone know where individuals with Medicaid in psychiatric emergency are taken in Las Vegas?

Could this be something that the local social services office or local police might know?

Best answer: Try Rawson Neal. They're affliated with UMC. They have about 190 beds.

I don't work for Las Vegas, but as someone who does psychiatriac holds, I would suggest that you contact the police directly. They may use several different hospitals.

If possible, have your family member's name, date of birth, the address (or general area) the police responded to, and the approximate time of the call.

If they can't release hospital information because of department policies, make sure to get the report number. Then you can try going to your local station and ask them to call LVPD for a welfare check on your relative -- make sure to give your local officer the report number. The LVPD may be able to give other officers info that they can't give you.

If you have any questions, please PM me. I'm going to bed soon, but I'll check messages as soon as I wake up.

Good luck.

Do try the police - I was in this situation last year and the police were able to tell me where they had taken the person in question.

The other thing is, if you the person has a regular care team, call them. They A) may not know yet that the person has been hospitalized, and you can help get them that important information, and B) may be slightly less bound by regulations about what they can and can't tell you. (Or more willing to bend those regulations. I honestly don't know which was the case in my experience, I am just eternally grateful that I finally got confirmation of where my family member was from his regular psychologist, who I had called to alert him to the hospitalization.)

Best answer: The Nevada Division of Public Health website shows Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital and Dini-Townsend Hospital as the only two hospitals taking Medicaid psychiatric patients.

Response by poster: Thanks – I left a message with Rawson Neal. Dini Townsend is Reno. I've left messages with other LV hospitals as well. The police and the public defenders office were not able to release any information to me.
