Finding a vacuum cleaner that supports both corded / cordless operation

Most cordless ones don't work while charging. Know of any that do?

I had one of those Black and Decker cordless ones. It had a battery life of around 15-20 minutes, after which it needed to be recharged for another 5-6 hours before it was usable again.

However, if I kept the machine plugged in and tried to vacuum, it would still use the battery.

So ...anyone know of any vacuum that will let me run cordless when needed, and through a cord when needed?

Bissell Anna, but WOW at that price (I've paid that much for a vacuum cleaner before, but not one with iffy performance).
