Do "instant mixes" still exist in Google play music?

I can't find how to have Google create a playlist using only my music on my phone. Does it still exist?

Instant mixes used to be mixes based off of a starter song and your likes selected from your own music. I can find instant radios now which is nice I suppose, but I actually like the music I've purchased more than the music I haven't purchased. So, do instant mixes still exist? Or am I stuck with shuffle all?

This is all on my Android moto x with google play music version 6.0.1945s.2039625 if it matters.

Best answer: What happens if you go to your list of songs and tap on the three vertical dots on the right? Do you get a menu that includes "Start instant mix?

Best answer: They're still there, just harder to find. Search for the song you'd like to use as a seed, and then hit the three dots--start instant mix is the second option. The catch seems to be that it's no longer available in downloaded only mode.

Good catch, I didn't notice that limitation. Additionally, it seems like there are many people in the Google Play forum that are upset at the new interface and the removal of features. Maybe they will change it to be more friendly for your use case.

Response by poster: I guess I always did it from a song when it was already playing, which is no longer an option. Weird, and thanks!

Do you mean that feature where you use a song as a 'seed' for a playlist? You mean the 'start radio' feature? It appears first when I tap on the three dot menu next to the song (here's a screengrab from desktop - but I see that item in the same location on mobile, too).

Response by poster: start radio is not what I want -- I want to play my music, not random music from google's servers. "Start radio" has replaced "start instant mix" in the update.
