Can you recommend any mid-century modern furniture stores in or around Houston, Texas?

After not having much success finding mid-century modern furniture online, this weekend we're driving to Metro Retro, a big vintage furniture warehouse in Houston. Can you recommend any other modern furniture stores in the area?

I second Mid Century Pav, they rock. There are also a few cool places that sell stuff here and there, but the best finds I've ever found in Houston were at estate sales, so if you are there at the end of the week (Thursday, Friday, Sat, Sun) you might want to pick up a Houston Chronicle and go through the classifieds.

More importantly, where are you from? I live in Houston now but I grew up in Oklahoma City. As a person with an insatiable appetite for mid-century antiques, I can say OKC is one of the cheapest, most abundant places to find such goods. NO ONE throws anything away in Oklahoma, and there are few collectors there, so prices are much, much lower than they ever are in Houston and the stck is much higher.

Since you said you are driving to Houston, if you are somewhere between there and OKC (like Dallas, maybe) I would highly suggest driving up to OKC for a weekend and shopping there. If you are interested, e-mail me privately at brittanie (guess) rulebrittaniea (guess again!) org, and I'll give you the name of some shops there.

P.S. It's also worth noting that Tulsa has a lot of great stores too, if you can afford to make a weekend out of going to Oklahoma.

Response by poster: The Mid Century Pavillion looks great, thank you.

Brittanie, we're from Austin, so Houston, we think, is the fastest trip to somewhere with a decent selection. But thanks for the ideas, we'll keep OKC in mind for the future.

For anyone else interested, here are the other places we plan to check out:
