Gift for family in Israel

My brother is going to visit some family in Isreal -- a cousin and her two elementary-school aged children (boys). What might be a nice gift to bring from America? We don't know the family very well, and we would like the gift to be a surprise...

T-shirts or sports jerseys from a hometown team.

I always go for food in these situations; certainly no Israeli I know would turn down something tasty. In particular, they might appreciate some real maple syrup, which isn't always easy to get outside of North America. Regional specialties are good, too -- just be sure you don't pack fresh fruits or vegetables for customs reasons.

peanut butter cups aren't all that easily available over there.

seconding quince on the sports shirts and also consider sports logo hats from your home team.
