Best Driving Route from Vegas to Boston

Leaving for Boston in 7 hours. Should I drive Vegas to Albuquerque or Vegas to Denver? Driving a small 2 seater if that matters. Trying to avoid bad weather. Leaving at 8am Vegas time. Won't drive after dark. Any tips on best route to Cambridge would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

South route is faster and less chance of bad weather for sure, although when you get to Texas it will be sparse for quite a while.

I70 through Denver. Then I80 through Nebraska. Its a bit longer, but much prettier, and Nebraska is a far better drive than Kansas.

Whichever way you go, if you plan to cross the rockies in the morning, you are far less likely to encounter weather.

This probably goes without saying, but on the east coast, you really want to give new york city a wide berth. There aren't a lot of ways over the hudson and it's kind of a chokepoint to get into New England.

Use I-84 if you can, meaning the Newburgh bridge is preferable to the Tappan zee, and definitely avoid nyc proper.

You're leaving soon so you might not see this but I would avoid I-70 in Colorado.

That was 5 days ago.

CODOT reports all roads are dry and clear at this time.

Even better than using I-84 to avoid NYC would be to pick up I-90 near Cleveland and take it all the way through Upstate New York, Western Mass and straight into Boston.

Also, for the last leg of the trip, depending on time of day and where in Cambridge you're heading, you can either get off I-90 onto I-95/MA-128 and take MA-2 into Cambridge from the west, or you can take I-90 all the way in to the Allston exit and cross the river into the Cambridgeport neighborhood. (I would avoid the latter during rush hour, though, as the intersection right at the exit can be a nightmare).

Oklahoma is expecting rain and thunderstorms today and tomorrow. The northern route looks a lot clearer and drier?
