How to get married in Northern Virginia?

I'm looking for recommendations for venue, officiant and dinner.

I'm looking for recommendations for venues for a small wedding and dinner in Northern Virginia, specifically Arlington or Alexandria. Advice that I'd love to have:

The Arlington courthouse is about a stone's throw away from our apartment and it would be convenient to have the ceremony there, but I haven't had a lot of luck contacting the three lawyers who usually officiate at that location. Do you have any recommendations for officiants who would travel to this area?

Is the Arlington or Alexandria courthouse a better venue?

I'm also wondering anyone has recommendations for a dinner after the ceremony. My family are all dedicated carnivores and his family are gluten free and occasionally vegetarian, and my usual go-to places don't seem like they'd make everyone happy.

How big of a group are you talking about? Me Jana is one option for dinner that comes to mind if you marry at the Arlington courthouse, since it is close by there. It has meat options and gluten free and vegetarian options. They accommodated my group of 16 on short notice not so long ago. I'm assuming they could do a bit bigger group with a bit of notice.

If you are not averse to it, you might also consider asking the local Unitarian minister to marry you. They have a chapel you can use for small weddings or the minister would come to a site of your choosing.

Metafilter's own eviltiff is a Virginia officiant and could probably help you with your other questions, too.

A friend of mine is a wedding coordinator at a church in Fauquier County. Presbyterian, though she's pretty cool. If I or she could be of any help, feel free to write.
