Source for even handed, researched parenting news updates?

Can anyone recommend a source for well researched news and updates on major parenting topics like medical updates, product recalls, new products etc?

Ideally I would love a weekly or monthly email with the biggest news headings in all things parenting/mom. I can't stand the echo chamber of parenting hysterics on Facebook and the somewhat crazy sounding or poorly sourced parenting blogs which seems to be the major source for these things.

For example, there's a viral Facebook topic about Tylenol not relieving pain in kids going around which is several years old but just reached critical mass as several moms have been talking about it. Well the source is a blog that I am not familiar with and I have no idea how to evaluate the legitimacy of these reports. Usually I end up following the mentioned (but not cited!?!) sources or "studies" tracking down the original studies and reading them to see the full story. However doing what is essentially a lit review for every fact another parent shares with me is tedious. There must be someone, company or agency out there already doing this right?

*crickets*, unfortunately. To be honest, I see a lot of things here on MetaFilter that refute or expand on common parenting memes, where someone more knowledgable usually contextualizes it for me.

Pediacast is a great resource for evaluation of medical news.

NICE (nice.org.uk) for medical summaries, kids and otherwise. In general the UK sources are saner on medical stuff and more readable than the nih/fda

Recalls.gov for recalls of anything.

Kellymom.com for breastfeeding related questions, but it sounds like your kid(s) may be past that age.
