CrashTime Pro

I've got Quicktime Pro 7 on an XP Dell. The accursed thing will crash any browser I try it on for a while (FF, Opera, IE), then after a few restarts or a cool-down period, works like a charm. It will also do the same as a standalone. Any clues as to why this might be so?

I'm wondering if it might be my antivirus. I'm running Avast, and it once called a QT stream (.qtx) a trojan. Otherwise, I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance!

Response by poster: Here's an example of a site that FF chokes on and Micros*ft OCA blames on Quicktime.

It sounds like you've got a corrupt QT plugin of some kind. I assume you've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling. You might have to do some cleanup after the uninstall to make sure everything is removed.

FWIW the site you linked works fine for me with Firefox and Quicktime Alternative. I can't fathom ever going back to the official QT after having used QTA sucessfully for so long.
