Good headhunter and career counselor in LA?

A friend of mine is transitioning careers and is looking for both a headhunter to help find jobs and a career counselor to provide some advice/guidance. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Response by poster: To be clear, if the people are in the LA Basin, that'd be ideal. Thanks!

Response by poster: He has several advanced degrees and had worked in a variety of fields, including academia for a stint. He's currently managing a building-construction-masonry firm. Not in the film industry.

For career counseling, I had a good experience with Steve Harvey at the McGuire Group (provided as part of an employer's severance package). (I had also previously had a bad experience with an alleged career counselor I found highly rated on Yelp, who just advised me to either get an MBA or learn to code. I can provide his information via memail, if you like.)
