(A) number of (things like) the Beast

I finally got around to watching The Good Wife, and really liked the soundtrack. In particular, I'm sort of in love with Mr Hurricane and Satan by Beast. What other music is like this? Please keep in mind that my children have conspired to stop me listening to anything new in many years, so I might need a little handholding to understand what I'm listening to here.

I also love the track Satan by Beast, so I'm going to leave the source of its bass sample here (Charles Mingus).

Try going through some trip rock and trip hop (e.g. Tricky)?

My best advice is to put those songs on a new Pandora channel and see what they play for you. Give a thumbs up (to songs you like) or thumbs down (to songs you especially dislike, but not more than a few an hour or Pandora won't let you skim/bypass for a while). This helps to refine the algorithm. If you especially like a song or new artist, add it to the channel to help strengthen that input. It's a really effective way of being exposed to other similar-sounding music!

I quite like Everybody Smokes IN Hell by John Carroll. Try his website www.johncarrollmusic.com choose Music from the top and scroll down to play the title track. It has a similar vibe to the Beast track (which I really like - thanks!) although the instrumentation is a bit different.
