Seeking Adult Nocturnal Enuresis Expert

Nocturnal enuresis is nighttime bedwetting. My partner suffers from it approximately 1-3 times per month. After pursuing treatment since childhood through primary care physicians and their referrals, with no appreciable change, we would like to find physicians who specialize in treating bedwetting in adults. While recommendations in the NE US are particularly appreciated, we'd like to know of specialists in any part of the country.

Mod note: Folks, this question is very specific - it's asking for doctor referrals, not general suggestions. Thanks.

(If your partner is female) A friend of mine was treated by the Urogynecology department at UCLA. She had incontinence issues, but bedwetting was not specifically a problem. I lost touch with her so I don't know if the issue was resolved, but she did like & trust her doctors.

I used a strategy of searching Pubmed for papers on the subject and tracing their authors.

Douglas Husmann at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN wrote a review paper on adult nocturnal enuresis.

I also found Gary Robertson at Northwestern in Chicago.

Unfortunately no one in the northeast - it was really hard to find anyone in the United States doing papers on this, actually. I suspect both the doctors listed above are fairly old ("professor emeritus", etc) - but you might be able to just contact them to ask for a recommendation, they're academic so they must know other people in the field.

The link between undiagnosed constipation and nighttime bedwetting was established in the 1980's by Sean O'Regan a pediatric kidney specialist who now treats adults in the Mesa, Arizona area. Google occult megarectum or constipation and bedwetting.
