Name that children's toy...

What is the name of the kids toy where you pull the string and an arrow goes around and lands on the image of an animal and says "The cow says Mooooo". I've been racking my brain on this one.

I want to say it's called a speak and say...not to be confused with speak and spell.

they don't have strings anymore, now it's a plastic lever.

While looking at toys for my son, I was recently disappointed to learn that the modern See 'n Say does not use the string mechanism. Instead, it is battery-operated, works with a lever and has a quiz mode. I'm not sure I'll be getting one for my son, given my aversion to electronics equipment for toddlers.

Yeah, that does suck. Sometimes, the old-school ways are the better ways. Something childlike yet powerful about pulling that string and hearing the mechanism spool-up.

I found a few on eBay

The string was probably deemed hazardous to a child's health [i.e., kid could possibly get choked if s/he wrapped it around his/her neck], so it was removed.
