webzine design inspiration!
November 21, 2005 12:43 PM   RSS feed for this thread Subscribe

I'm looking for examples of well-designed webzines.

I'm preparing to manage the redesign/transformation of blog into more of a webzine, and I feel sadly unprepared to give the designer ideas. Know of any great examples of solidly designed webzines? It's not even that I need visual ideas ... I need some information architecture inspiration!

I once considered a blog/webzine switch (although I changed my mind afterwards), so I looked at examples of other zines. Here are two I remember looking at (both science, because that's my own niche)

I like how Science Bistro looks. It has short snippets on the front page, it has a sidebar with more frequently updated links so there are things going one even when articles are not updated.
On the other hand, I don't like how Science Creative Quartely looks. There is too much scrolling to be done, and too much text at once.
