Why can't I get onto Origin from NHL15 or Madden 15 (PS4)?

Note: I am in Canada playing on a PS4.

So, I bought digital copies of both Madden 15 and NHL 15 b/c they were on sale this week. Downloaded them both, and tried to start playing. I am unable to log in to EA Sports/Origin within either game, but with slightly different issues.

NHL15: Am able to accept terms (check-box) input name/password without issues. It then hangs, while the little spinner in the bottom left reads "connecting". I have left the game running as such for over an hour, and it just stays on "connecting". I can play offline if I back out of the log-in screens.

Madden15: This one is a little weirder. I get a notification that recording has been disabled, the EA Sports/Origin terms (w/ check-box) screen comes up. I then IMMEDIATELY get another notification saying that recording has been re-enabled, and am taken back to the main screen. I then get a pop-up message saying that I need to sign in to Origin to use online features.

Can anyone help? Also, I bought the Super Bowl bundle for Madden15. Oddly, the Super Bowl bundle is still showing as purchasable in the PS Store. I almost re-bought it by mistake when I tried deleting and re-downloading both games to see if that fixed the glitch.

Thanks!

It might be a server issue? (at the moment it says "Social: Limited Service") It looks like that might be the one that you need for "online features" (e.g., play with other people).

I'm pretty sure while recording is disabled that means you can't use the share button to post videos to youtube or livestream it. The PS4 developer guidelines do say if a game does disable that stuff, it should do so for as short a time as possible. My guess is that if their server were working, after the license screen it would have asked you for Origin credentials, which is something totally appropriate to limit recording/streaming. But I don't know for sure.

Did you create an Origin account previous to buying the games and PS4?

Have you tried logging in to Origin on a computer? I had a nightmare of a time getting Battlefield 4 to run on my Xbox One. The problem was that my Xbox Live account was tied to an old EA account from an old Tiger Woods game or something, and it was waiting for me to agree to some new legal nonsense. The game just spun forever until I did that.
