SFO to TPE. EVA or United?

I need to take a last minute flight. My choices are taking EVA Air in Premium Laurel Class, or United in Global Services First, San Francisco to Taipei. Which is the better cabin?

Also, how does Premium Laurel compare to United Business?

Best answer: Never been on EVA air, but I have done United from Chicago-Tokyo in Global First. Doing a quick check of the two I would take United; it's a true lay-flat bed about 6' long in a 1-2-1 configuration. EVA Air says that premium laurel is more like an old school reclining business class seat in a 2-2-2 configuration, it says there's about 5' between seats.

Given that I would even take United's international business class over that, you also get lie flat beds there.

Have you checked on SeatGuru? They can let you know more if you have specific flights.

Response by poster: Oh, nice catch about the non lie-flat seats. It seems on planes with 1-2-1 they do have flat beds, but in the 2-2-2 config, which is what I have available to me, they recline "almost flat" with some people online complaining about falling out of them(!).

I'll steer towards United. Thanks!
